The challenge Infraestructures.cat faced in improving public works management with accessible, real-time data
Infraestructures.cat, a public company of the Generalitat de Catalunya, plays a key role in regional development. Its mission is to ensure that public infrastructure projects are delivered to the highest standards of efficiency, quality, and safety.
Despite having advanced management systems in place, the organisation faced a significant limitation: it lacked an advanced analytics solution that would allow access to critical information in a clear, agile, and autonomous way.
A pilot project using Power BI showcased the potential of data analytics. However, it also revealed the need for a more robust, scalable, and secure solution capable of supporting the organisation’s long-term growth.
The implemented solution using a Lakehouse platform on Azure to turn data into strategic decisions
At Vanture ESS, in collaboration with our partner Deside Datum, we designed and implemented a comprehensive solution based on a Lakehouse architecture running on Azure Data Fabric. The main objective was to build a modern, scalable, and highly available platform capable of integrating data from multiple operational systems.
This new platform not only consolidates information but also transforms it into strategic data, accessible in real time. With a redesigned dashboard, the management team now has a clear overview of project statuses, detailed tracking of each phase, and more precise control over timelines — all within an intuitive, agile, and user-friendly interface. This improved usability supports a stronger data-driven culture across the organization.
